Immigration and residency paperwork in Spain
Spanish immigration files (extranjería) succeed or fail on detail: the right form, the right evidence, the right appointment and a reply to every request on time. We prepare and manage your application from first checklist to residency card, and keep you informed at every step. Where a filing must be made by a colegiado professional, it is submitted by our named partner.

Who does what — stated plainly
BorderConexion coordinates and prepares your case. Our founder is completing the official Máster en Gestión Administrativa (2026–27), the qualifying route to colegiación as a Gestora Administrativa in Spain. We are currently onboarding colegiado partners (abogados and gestores administrativos colegiados). Until those partnerships are in place, we offer consultations, route planning and document preparation; any filing that legally requires a colegiado professional will be submitted by a named partner, identified in your engagement letter.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a NIE and a TIE in Spain?
The NIE is your personal foreigner identity number and stays the same for life. The TIE is the physical residency card issued to non-EU residents, which shows your NIE and your type of authorisation. EU citizens receive a registration certificate instead of a TIE.
How do I get a NIE appointment in Marbella?
NIE and TIE appointments are booked through the government’s online appointment system for the relevant police office in the province. Availability changes frequently, so it helps to have every document ready before you book. We prepare the forms and checklist and manage the booking for you.
When should I start renewing my Spanish residence permit?
Renewals can generally be filed in the period before your authorisation expires, and in many cases shortly after expiry as well, though late filing can carry consequences. The exact window depends on your type of authorisation. We log your expiry date and start preparing well ahead of it.
What happens if I get a requerimiento from extranjería?
A requerimiento is a formal request for further documents or corrections. It comes with a short deadline, and if you don’t reply in time the application can be treated as withdrawn or refused. Read it carefully, note the deadline and gather exactly what is asked for.
Can my family join me if I live in Spain on a residence permit?
Family reunification is possible for many residents once they have held residence for the required period and can show adequate housing and sufficient means. Family members of EU or Spanish citizens follow a different route. Which one applies depends on your nationality, your permit and your relationship.
